Great Belt Bridge
As the project's owner, Great Belt A/S, a subsidiary of Sund &
Bælt Holding A/S, was responsible for the construction of
the 18 km fixed link between Funen and Zealand. Sund & Bælt
Holding A/S is today the operator of the Great Belt Bridge.
Constructed between 1988-1998, the Great Belt link opened to rail
traffic on June 1, 1997 and to road traffic on June 14, 1998.

With a free span of 1,624m, the East Bridge across
the Great Belt is Europe's longest and the world's second longest
suspension bridge.

The Øresund landworks
A/S Øresund, a subsidiary of Sund & Bælt Holding
A/S, was responsible for the construction of the motorway and railway
from Copenhagen Centre to Copenhagen Airport, Kastrup between 1991-1998.
This project included two stations of which one is the station at
Copenhagen Airport. In addition to operating the Great Belt Bridge,
Sund & Bælt Holding A/S operates the Øresund landworks.
The Øresund motorway opened in 1997 while the railway opened
in 1998.

The Øresund Bridge
The Øresund Bridge was a joint Danish/Swedish project. Øresundskonsortiet,
which is jointly owned by A/S Øresund and its Swedish partner,
SVEDAB AB, built the bridge between 1995-2000.
Following the link's inauguration on July 1, 2000, Øresundskonsortiet
changed name to Øresundsbro Konsortiet and, subsequently,
took over operative responsibility for the Øresund Bridge.

The Øresund Bridge links two of Scandinavia's
largest cities - Copenhagen in Denmark and Malmö in Sweden.
Following the opening of the bridge, the Øresund Region is
poised to become a major European centre for IT, research and other
knowledge-based sectors.
